This video is the culmination of an exhibit resulting from a game of telephone. Co curated with Dike Blair. We invited 10 artists to here a story created by the first artist. Each subsequent artist was then told the story and made a piece about it. Every few day a new piece would arrive at the gallery, creating a sort of durational exhibit. In the end Gary Indiana phoned Leo Castelli. This is the video of Leo telling me the story. I’m hearing as I’m taping for the very first time.

Searching for Snoopy Tomato
1995ish, my version of “Waiting for Godot” I was growing the tomatoes for a show and they kept rotting on the vine. As usual with the plant work I needed to improvise. When it became clear that the exhibit would be ‘Late’ I made this piece about the loss of hope of creating what I wanted in time for the exhibit The show went on with this tape and many photographs some of half grown tomatoes…
